The principle of operation of DI water filtration system for the electronics:

The DI filtration system uses an ion-exchange method to remove ions from the water, creating ultra-pure water with low conductivity (also called deionized water).

The ions that the DI water filtration system can remove include positive and negative ions, dissolved solids, dissolved gases. Therefore, before installing a DI system, the water source should be checked for the following components:

• Cations: Calcium [Ca++], Sodium [Na+], Potassium [K+], Iron [Fe+++], Hydrogen [H+], Magnesium [Mg++], Manganese [Mn++].
• Anions: Silicates [SiO2-], Sulfates [SO4=], Carbonates [CO3=], Chlorides [Cl-], Hydroxyl [OH-], Nitrates [NO3=].

The DI water filtration system uses ion-exchange resins to remove ions from the water, a type of cation resin that removes positively charged ions and anion resins to remove negatively charged ions.

After removing the conductive ions in the water, the outlet water of the DI water filtration system meets the standard of pure water with very low conductivity (below <10 micro-ohms), and the water requirements in manufacturing electronic components.
