- Anaerobic biotechnology: Oxygen is almost completely removed from the water and replaced with trivalent nitrogen monoxide that combines with organic matters, and heterotrophic organisms in water to produce carbon dioxide gas + water + new biomass.
- Aerobic biotechnology: This is an important and effective method based on the principle of using anaerobic microorganisms to decompose organic matter in wastewater under conditions of constant oxygen supply. This process takes a long time. When a relatively large amount of organic matter is lost, the rest goes through nitrification.
Wastewater treatment procession:
Septic tank: Wastewater from the WC will be sent to the septic tank, where sedimentation occurs. Gravity sediment is deposited and the rest of the water is drained out of the septic tank. Anaerobic microorganisms at the bottom of the tank decompose organic matter that is known as fermentation. It reduces odor and volume.
- Grease separator tank: Grease released from the kitchen leads to cooking clog pipes. The oil separator tank plays the role of removing the grease layer on the surface.
- Gully grate: Garbage such as food scraps, paper, stone...will be held so as not to damage the system.
- Storage tank: Wastewater after going through the septic tank, grease will be collected here
- Air tanks: Helps balance the concentration and flow of water. Anaerobic microorganisms in the tank help to decompose organic matter and form air bubbles. Therefore, the air tank is equipped with aeration equipment, air bubbles cling to suspended dirt on the water surface. Aerating disturbs the water to minimize sedimentation and anaerobic phenomena at the bottom of the tank.
- Anoxic tank: is the place where substances such as Nitrogen and Phosphorus decompose thanks to mixer equipment stirring
- Aerotank (Aerobic biological tank): The blowers supply oxygen continuously for aerobic organisms to work effectively. Combining with microbial buffer, water, and air pass through to increase the contact surface area and the ability to adhere to microorganisms.
- Clarifier: By the influence of gravity, residue sticks to cotton in microbial buffers at Aerotank and settle to the bottom. Sediments are taken to sludge storage tanks for treatment. And then water flows through the sedimentation plates.
- Sludge tank: Containing the sludge that has been decomposed, and filtered water is returned to the air tank.
- Disinfection tank: containing chlorine to clean and disinfect wastewater before releasing into the environment. Disinfection tank removes pathogens, viruses, pathogenic bacteria, especially Coliform-anaerobic bacteria, usually presenting in the human digestive system
