What are cation particles?

Cation beads, also known as cation resin beads, are beads that can soften water at a low cost but with high efficiency. Cation resin beads are insoluble in water and have the ability to exchange ions, thereby separating Ca2+ and Mg2+ ions from the water source.

• Cation beads are broken or scratched when strongly colliding with other objects during transportation.
• As negative ions, cation particles have the ability to conduct electricity and heat well.

Based on the ion absorption ability of cation resin beads, cation resin beads can be classified into 3 types:

1. Cationic resin beads attract positive ions from acidic water molecules to soften water.

• Strong acid cation beads: This type of cation beads contains some chemicals belonging to the sulfonic acid group (SO3H), hydrogen atoms are mobile and easily separated from water. Cations can be absorbed by negatively charged ions in alkaline or acidic solutions.
• Weak acid cation particles contain weak acid cation particles that are difficult to completely separate in water molecules, mainly belonging to the organic acid group (SO4, SO3, PO4, NO2...). Negatively charged ions absorb cations in alkaline or neutral solutions.

2. Anionite resin beads absorb alkaline negative ions in the electrolyte solution with the function of removing organic compounds and salts.

• Strong base anion particles contain chemicals belonging to the strong base group such as sodium hydroxide (NaOH), barium hydroxide (Ba(OH)2), potassium hydroxide (K(OH)2)....Strong bases completely dissociate in water, absorbing positive charges and anions in alkaline or alkaline earth environments.
• Weakly basic anion particles of the (OH)2 group dissociate in neutral or acidic alkaline environments.

3. Amphoteric ionite resin beads contain both cation and anion groups to help remove harmful ions and impurities in water.

• Cation beads have the role of softening water, removing heavy metals that harden water, reducing Ca+, Mg+ and increasing Na+ concentration to ensure pure water to avoid affecting the life of water industry equipment and machinery. , factory equipment, factories, industrial parks, avoiding skin and hair diseases.

Advantages and disadvantages of cationic particles 

Advantage:

Disadvantages: Cannot remove organic compounds and iron III dioxide ions but can only be used for ion exchange.
