The design of wastewater treatment systems depends greatly on the characteristics of the wastewater source. Based on the amount of wastewater, the wastewater treatment system can be divided into small-scale, medium-scale and large-scale levels. The wastewater treatment system process needs to be technically feasible and economically suitable.

Domestic wastewater treatment process

If wastewater comes from the kitchen and activities of guests and employees in hotels, restaurants, and bars, it is necessary to filter the waste in the water through a trash screen before moving it to the collection pit.

If the hotel has a swimming pool, the pool water will follow the collection path at the bottom of the pool through a trash screen and through a filter column to remove sediment and suspended solids in the pool. After filtration, the water is circulated back to the pool.

Wastewater from food processing often contains oil and grease, so the collection tank will separate oil and grease in the wastewater before letting the water flow through the conditioning tank.

An aeration device will be installed in the conditioning tank to avoid anaerobic decomposition or sedimentation.

When water is led to the Anoxic tank, anaerobic microorganisms here will decompose nitrogen and phosphorus in the wastewater.

In the Aerotank, aerobic microorganisms will decompose dissolved organic matter and remaining suspended substances in wastewater. The tank contains a system of air distribution pipes to provide oxygen that diffuses evenly in the water.

In the settling tank, the dead microbial residue in the wastewater will settle into the tank to form sludge, the sludge is sent to the sludge tank. The clean water in the sedimentation tank is passed through a disinfection tank containing chlorine before being discharged into the environment.
