The electronics industry uses EDI water filtration technology to help treat water supply effectively, ensure standards, and save costs and electricity. Solution consulting and full installation from Eclim Vietnam.
Water used in the production of electronic devices such as microchips, chips, phone components, computers... requires high purity, conductivity and resistivity parameters are very strict. EDI water filtration technology in the electronics industry helps ensure output water standards, saving operating costs and energy consumption.
EDI water filtration system for electronics industry
Electronic manufacturing activities are often strictly controlled to ensure product quality. In particular, the segments that need to use water supply are:
Wash semiconductors
Clean the silicon surface before plating
Manufacturing semiconductors such as thin film devices, light-emitting diodes, images, printed circuits...
Different production equipment sizes require different water quality. With devices with a width of only 0.09 - 0.18 mm, the water quality must be the highest, with very low conductivity (<0.1µS/cm). To achieve the above water quality, it is necessary to apply EDI water filtration technology.
EDI is the most modern and advanced water filtration technology that is being widely applied to the electronics industry in developed and developing countries at the present time.
The input water source of the EDI treatment system is tap water meeting QCVN02: 2009/BYT standards, requiring treatment of iron, chlorine, manganese, arsenic... Accordingly, water is led through the following filter columns:
- Multi-stage filter column: Usually includes quartz sand and manganese sand to help remove large suspended sediments and a portion of metal ions in water.
- Activated carbon filter column: Can combine many types of activated carbon to increase treatment efficiency, to remove residual chlorine, deodorize and other organic compounds in water.
- Ion exchange column: Reduces water hardness by using Na+ cations to exchange with Mg2+, Ca2+ ions... in the water, ensuring the output water is soft water.
- Cartridge filter column: With filter slots under 5µm, helps remove suspended solids in water before passing water through the RO filter membrane.
- RO filter membrane: The filtration efficiency of the Ro membrane is up to 96.95%, helping to create pure water, removing foreign ions, bacteria, fungi, and algae in the water. After the RO water filter membrane, the conductivity of water is below 10µS/cm.
- EDI device: Water passing through the RO device is then directed through the EDI device, the conductivity of the water is reduced to less than 0.1µS/cm.
- Disinfect and filter dead bacteria: Use a UV light system or Ozone gas generator to kill arising bacteria, then pass it through filtering equipment to remove dead microorganisms before adding water. into use.
EDI is being applied more and more commonly, gradually replacing traditional methods in the field of ultrapure water production:
E&C Vietnam Environmental Technology Services Joint Stock Company is an expert in the field of standard water treatment. Depending on customer requirements, we can design EDI water treatment systems with different capacities. Ensure the quality of pure water necessary for production and business activities. The system is highly automated, environmentally friendly and safe.
