THE INFLUENCE OF CHINA'S BELT AND ROAD STRATEGY ON THE UNITED STATES

Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a large-scale economic initiative announced by China in 2013. This initiative aims to create a network linking countries through building infrastructure and promoting economic cooperation. With its global scale and influence, Belt and Road has created significant impacts on the United States, both military and non-military.

The position of the United States in the international arena

Is the United States' position in the international arena shaky?

On the military front, Belt and Road has created challenges to US strategic interests. China has increased its military activities in neighboring areas, especially in the East and South China Seas , causing territorial disputes. These activities have caused the United States to pay attention and increase its military presence in this area to protect its interests and those of its allies. This has caused tension and conflict between Washington and Beijing, and could lead to a future military encounter that no one wants to happen.

Increased defense spending and Chinese military presence outside the mainland.

In addition, the Belt and Road has also expanded China's military activities further from the mainland. China has increased its military presence in Africa, Europe and the Middle East through building military bases and conducting joint exercises with countries in the region. This has created concern for the United States, as it could weaken its presence and influence in these regions. The United States is trying to increase its military presence and establish alliances to counter China's expansion.

Economic and trade changes in the future

Not only military influence, Belt and Road also has significant economic and trade effects on the United States. China has invested large amounts of money in infrastructure and economic projects in BRI participating countries. These projects have created new business opportunities for Chinese companies and increased China's participation in the global economy. This has caused competition with the United States in promoting trade and investment in these regions.

Many countries have been looking for ways to escape dependence on the US Dollar.

Additionally, China is also seeking to gain military and civilian technology through the Belt and Road . China has increased its technology company acquisitions and investments in areas such as artificial intelligence , media and information technology . This has created security and privacy concerns, especially after the US global boycott of Huawei and concerns about China's use of technology for surveillance and control.

Vietnam - United States raise the level of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership .

The strategic influence of China's Belt and Road on the United States is huge. From military to economic, the United States must face the challenges and risks that this strategy brings. This requires the United States to increase its presence and cooperation with allies to deal with China's next steps.
