THE MAIN CAUSES OF THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT

Greenhouse effect

The greenhouse effect is the phenomenon when gases such as CO2 (carbon dioxide), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and other gases are captured and trapped in the Earth's atmosphere, creating a film. strengthen the greenhouse effect, leading to an increase in average global temperature. Below are some of the main causes of the greenhouse effect.

Diagram of the greenhouse effect.

Emissions from industrial and energy activities

  • Industry: The production, processing, and transportation of goods produces CO2 and other emissions.
  • Energy: Using fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gas to produce electricity, heat homes, and transport, produces large amounts of CO2.

Burning forests

  • When forests are destroyed or burned to create farmland or provide land for construction, the carbon stored in trees and soil is released into the air as CO2.

Deforestation in Vietnam is increasingly complicated.

Agricultural activities

  • Using chemical fertilizers and high-quality animals can also produce nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas more potent than CO2.

Transportation

  • Cars, motorbikes, airplanes, and other vehicles that use fossil fuels to move also produce large amounts of CO2.

Land changes and soil quality

  • The process of changing land use, such as filling in sinks or clearing forests to make way for construction, can also release carbon stored in the soil.

Energy consumption and production of personal goods

  • Increased energy consumption and production of personal goods also increase the amount of CO2 produced during the production and transportation of products.

Product production output is increasingly high.

Natural climate change

  • Natural climate variability, such as solar variation and volcanic activity, can also contribute to the greenhouse effect.

The above causes combine to create the greenhouse effect and cause global tropical warming, affecting the living environment and human life. To reduce the greenhouse effect, action is needed to reduce environmental emissions and promote sustainable solutions in all areas of life and the economy.
