Solids make wastewater brown and cloudy, causing deterioration of water sources and the growth of microorganisms in the water.
High concentrations of N and P nutrients eutrophicate the water source, reduce the amount of oxygen in the water, and reduce the number of fish and animals in the water.

Technological process of dairy farming wastewater treatment

• Biogas tank: Dairy wastewater is flowed into the biogas tank to treat organic matter and destroy pathogens. Biogas tanks also help reduce the amount of toxic gas produced and provide gas for use.
• Collection pit: Wastewater after being treated with biogas will pass through a trash screen to filter large-sized trash before reaching the centralized wastewater collection pit.
• Equalization tank: The equalization tank has an aeration system to help regulate the flow and concentration of waste before entering the biological treatment process.
• UASB tank (or Anoxic tank): An anaerobic biological tank has aerobic microorganisms that help treat N in wastewater by converting N in compounds into gas form.
• Aerotank: Aerotank contains aerobic microorganisms, periodically added from circulating sludge in the settling tank. Aerobic microorganisms help decompose organic matter in wastewater.
• Sedimentation tank: The water in the Aerotank will overflow through the sedimentation tank to settle the sludge. The sludge that settles to the bottom is circulated in the aerobic and anoxic biological tank, and the sludge is pumped into the sludge tank.
• Disinfection tank: The disinfection tank is pumped with a disinfectant called Javen, which kills harmful microorganisms in wastewater.
• Biological pond: Biological pond is a natural method that helps decompose organic and inorganic matter remaining in wastewater.
